My wife Cynthia and I visited the Cat Haven yesterday and enjoyed it so much.  Your information and dedication to the cats made our visit extra memorable.  I had never before seen these animals up close.  They are truely incredible.  I feel privileged to have had a chance to see the cats and to learn so much about them from you.  We both talked about how much we liked the environment of the Cat Haven.   The rural setting and the natural landscape sets your facility apart from any zoo I've visited.  We were also impressed with your focus on the various organizations around the world that you support.  The introduction to the tour gave us a great perspective on the work you are helping to facilitate worldwide.   We'll spread the word to friends and will certainly return for another tour.   Thanks again, Ken Bewick and Cynthia Strauss, September 21st 1998

Club 55 Plus Valley Venturers came back from their visit to Project Survival's Cat Haven today with high praise for the great program you and your staff are providing. They all expressed appreciation for your warm hospitality. Evidently this outing will be remembered as a very special one. Many thanks to all of you! Sincerely, Maureen Houghton, October 15 1998 Dear Cat Haven, This is Richard Lawn who wrote to you about four weeks ago begging help with  a piece of work in the University of London.   Thank you so much for sending the mail you did.  It was really useful.  I am now pleased to report that due to you guys I got an A- which is pretty amazing considering I didn't know much about it before I started and wrote to you. Thank you again, Richard Lawn, Nov.30 1998

About the Cat Haven

by

Emily Abraham Dunlap Elementary School

2nd Grade

The Cat Haven is a project on trying to help big cats survive. Dale Anderson loved cats ever since he was in 4th grade. His wish has come true.

My favorite cat in the world is the bobcat because the bobcat looks like it has a huge beard on both sides. I've seen bobcats slot because my dad has lots of hunting books. I learned lots of things from the presentation. One thing I learned is that whenever you see a wild animal never pick it up and take it home because it will cause lots of destruction and that might be the last animals of that species. Anon. 4th Grader, Alta School

I never knew there were so many cats. Abraham showed us everything. Alejandra Alcaraz, Alta School

Dear Miss Julie,

Thank you for showing us around the Cat Haven. My favorite cats were the three leopards. Someday I want to help the endangered cats. Thank you for telling us about the cats. Love, Joshua Lewis Lighthouse Christian School, October 6th 1998

I'm so excited because we are going there! Bonnie, Alta School

In Alta School, in our cafeteria, Julie Abraham came. She works with big wild cats like tigers, bobcats and more. It was cool when she put the pictures on the stage … It is bad to kill animals if you want a fur coat you would have to use 40 wild cats. Thank you for coming Julie Abraham.

Lorenzo Gonzalez, Alta School

I like the cats because of their fur, the colors and how good they hunt. I like a tiger because its neat colors and a black leopard for its dark color and how strong they are.

I think the Cat Haven is a good place for cats because they get food, water and a nice place to live. I learned that there's not many cats left in the world and it takes so many cats to make fur coats and that they are getting killed all around the world. All kinds of cats die every year. The cubs are cute.Daniel Kevorkian, Alta School

I learned that if you find a leopard and it is big and you take it home it will ruin your furniture.

Thank you so much for your delightful tour of the Haven! It was a rare treat, both seeing the magnificent cats and the vision of the staff for protecting and preserving them, their respective habitats and the biodiversity they represent. I will continue to encourage as many as I can to come visit you. Sincerely, Kirby Anne Feaver
