- The word "caracal" comes
from the Turkish word
"karakulak" that means black ears.
- The caracal was displayed
in the royal courts of Egypt in the days of the
Pharos.
- Caracals are the quickest
cat. Cheetahs are the fastest
- Royalty in the Middle East
use to gamble on the amount of birds a caracal can
take down in one pass. A good caracal can take down
7 to 12 birds before they can fly away.
- They are called by the name
' Desert Lynx' even though they do not live in
the true deserts of Africa or the Middle East.
