Currently the Cat Haven has no paid job vacancies. We are always looking for volunteers to help get the conservation message out to the general public. We also have a volunteer keeper intern positions available from time to time. If interested in either a docent or keeper position e-mail us and a volunteer application will be sent to you. If paid positions come available, most position will be filled from our volunteer staff.

The animal field is verify competitive and experience is very important. The Cat Haven can help those of you who are interested in pursuing a career working with animals by giving you need experience. Most Zoos are looking for people with  a college degree and experience working with animals of any type.

Most people do not realize that there are more jobs in the animal field then being a veterinarian or zoo keeper. Although being a veterinarian or zoo keeper is a great career, it is not for all people. Other animal jobs that might interest some people are Park Ranger, Fish and Game Warden, Fish and Game Biologist, Field Researcher, Biology Teacher, Veterinarian Technician, are just a few jobs that come to mind.

We, as people, are charged to take care of the world we live in. Working with animals can be a very rewarding career, but do not look to get rich. The joy of the job needs to be your motivating factor. Our cats at the Cat Haven give the staff great joy, but there are always frustrations with any job. Find something you like and stick with it is the best advice anyone can be given.  Volunteer
