Get Involved | Adopt a Cat | Membership | Volunteering

Sponsorship means you make a valuable contribution to the food bill and veterinary care of the cat you choose to support. In return you will receive a membership to the Cat Haven, an 8 X 10 photo of your adopted cat and recognition on the sponsorship Plaque displayed on the wall of the Gift Shop. After the following list of cats scroll down for details on how to proceed.

2tigers.jpg (42830 bytes)  Goliatha.jpg (52164 bytes)

Goliath and Kong: Born December 4, 1997 "The Boys" are the Cat Haven's two bengal tiger brothers. Their personalities are every bit as large as they are! They are always pleased to see visitors and use up masses of energy at playtime.  In the photo above left, Goliath is 'washing' Kong's head and then poses for the camera at right. (Actually, tigers don't 'pose' - a good photo takes quite a bit of luck!)

ARGON.jpg (24417 bytes) ...still waiting for good photos of Nan Ying and Kalara, who look alot like Kuan, their sister...

Nan Ying, Kuan Yin and Kalara: Three Amur leopard sisters born in August 11, 1997. These magnificent leopards are among the rarest animals in the world, with an estimated 40 left in the wild.  They are native to the far east of Russia. Their parents, Argon and Chen also need sponsoship parents. Argon is as good natured as leopards get but he'll take any opportunity to scent mark his keepers! Chen, the mother, is stunning, wild and aggressive. She is also genetically valuable to the survival of this critically endangered sub-species. Amur leopards look distinctly different from the African leopard.

Morania.jpg (29469 bytes)    Caracal2.jpg (50742 bytes)

Jasiri and Morani: Caracals born April 14, 1998, a sister and brother. These stunning small cats capture everyone's attention with their long gangly legs, black ears and lively interest in the world.  Jasiri and Morani are our ambassadors.  They occasionally make trips off-site to educational presentations. In Swahili, Jasiri means 'to venture' and 'Morani' means ' young warrior'.

  Shebeth.jpg (16905 bytes)   Shebetha.jpg (19993 bytes)  Blklep2.jpg (59427 bytes)

She-beth: A charismatic black leopard with a personality to match. She-beth was born September 19, 1994 and has developed a range of vocalizations which amaze us.  She's been known to squeak to her favorite friends as well as make the wonderful throaty rumble common to leopards.  She-beth gives us an opportunity to discuss the background of black cats and contrast that information with a look at the rarer white coloration, which is seen in some tigers and even lions.

Camface.jpg (41257 bytes)  Campoo.jpg (46572 bytes)  Camtree.jpg (28074 bytes)

Cam Lo and Ah Mei: Our acrobats! A clouded leopard brother and sister born August 21, 1997 (see the photo of them playing on our home page).   Few people have seen these unusual saber-toothed type cats, which spend a great deal of time running and jumping through trees. They are such good climbers that they are called 'tree tigers' in Malaysia.  The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classifies them as vulnerable throughout most of their Southeast Asian range, where they are threatened by poaching and loss of habitat.

Tizball.jpg (106380 bytes)  Tizface.jpg (116090 bytes)

Tizana: Tizzy, born June 2, 1997, is a rambunctious, beautiful snow leopard.  She manages to arrest everyone's attention with her ice grey eyes, intense personality and passionate desire to play. She is one of a kind!

Rufus.jpg (38949 bytes)

Rufus: Rufus is a no-nonsense bob cat who loves to chase feather lures and rolling pebbles. He is a handsome ambassador for our native american cats. People love to see his striking face and ever-moving, restless tail. He has a lot to teach about the respect which wildlife should be given.

Betia and Juanita: Our jaguars from Guatemala, born December 24 2003. These girls are the new cats of 2005.
